The burden of Babylon,which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.

Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.

Lift up a banner on the high mountain;raise your voice to them; wave your hand,so that they may enter the gates of the nobles.

I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones, for mine anger is not upon them that rejoice in my highness.

The noise of the multitude in the mountains like as of a great people, a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together, the Lord of Hosts mustereth the hosts of the battle.

The noise of an army in the mountains,like that of a vast people;a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together:the Lord of Hosts is mustering the armies for battle.

They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, yea, the Lord, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

They come from a faraway country,from the end of heaven:the Lord, and the weapons of his indignation,to destroy the whole land.

Howl ye, for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

Wail, for the day of the Lord is near;it will come as destruction from the Almighty.

Therefore shall all hands be faint, every man’s heart shall melt;

Therefore all hands will go limp,and every heart will melt,

And they shall be afraid; pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.

and they will be afraid.Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them;they will stare at one another, aghast;their faces will be like flames.

Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

See, the day of the Lord is coming,cruel with both wrath and fierce anger,to lay the land desolate;and he will destroy its sinners out of it.

For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light; the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

For the stars of heaven and their constellationswill not give their light;the sun will be darkened as it rises,and the moon will not shed its light.

And I will punish the world for evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay down the haughtiness of the terrible.

And I will punish the world for its evil,and the wicked for their sin;I will put an end to the arrogance of the proudand bring down the haughtiness of the ruthless.

I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

I will make a person more precious than fine gold,yes, a person more than the golden wedge of Ophir.

Therefore, I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of Hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up; and they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.

And it will be like a hunted deer,like a sheep that no one gathers;each will turn to his own people,and each will flee to his own land.

Every one that is proud shall be thrust through; yea, and every one that is joined to the wicked shall fall by the sword.

Everyone who is proud will be run through;yes, everyone who joins with the wicked will fall by the sword.

Their children, also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled and their wives ravished.

Their children will also be dashed to pieces before their eyes;their houses will be plundered,and their wives violated.

Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver and gold, nor shall they delight in it.

See, I will stir up the Medes against them,who will not care about silver and gold,nor take any delight in it.

Their bows shall also dash the young men to pieces, and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children.

And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms,the beauty of the Chaldeans' pride,will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

It will never be inhabited;no one will live in it from generation to generation;no Arab will pitch a tent there;no shepherd will pen his flock there.

But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

But the wild animals of the desert will lie there;their houses will be full of mournful creatures;owls will live there,and satyrs will dance there.

And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces; and her time is near to come, and her day shall not be prolonged. For I will destroy her speedily; yea, for I will be merciful unto my people, but the wicked shall perish.

And the wild animals of the islands will howl in their desolate houses,and dragons in their pleasant palaces.Her time is near to come;her day will not be prolonged.For I will destroy her quickly;yes, I will be merciful to my people,but the wicked will die.
